How short or long can respite care be?
Whatever you need: a few hours, an overnight, a weekend, or a couple of weeks. Respite can be a one-time break or a recurring standing shift so you always have time that is yours.
Can you cover a vacation or a trip out of state?
Yes, and many families use respite for exactly this. We can provide extended daytime, overnight, or 24-hour coverage so you can travel knowing someone reliable is there.
Will my loved one be comfortable with a new caregiver?
We match thoughtfully and, when possible, introduce the caregiver before your break so it is a familiar face. For recurring respite we keep the same aide so it is not a stranger each time.
How much notice do you need?
Often only 24 to 48 hours, and sometimes same-day for urgent situations. For a planned trip, booking ahead lets us match the ideal caregiver.
Does insurance cover respite?
Standard Medicare does not cover non-medical respite, but long-term care insurance and VA Aid & Attendance sometimes do. We can help you understand what applies.
